Why My Side Hustle Had to Wait a Day

There's nothing quite like stepping off a plane into that warm, 80-degree Florida sunshine. After 23 years of fighting it, I think I’ve finally become a true Floridian. I landed back in Ft. Lauderdale around 4:00 P.M., but between the recent expo, a series of back-to-back meetings, and the flight home, I effectively lost an entire day of trading. This is the kind of trade-off that’s all too common when you're .
On top of it all, I'm completely exhausted. I have that tell-tale scratchy feeling in my throat and am pretty sure I brought home a cold as a souvenir. The thought of diving into my notes from the presentations and meetings I attended feels like a monumental task, let alone trying to scan the markets for tomorrow. This is the unglamorous reality of many —the relentless pace eventually catches up with you.
So, I’ve made a decision. The market scanning has to wait. For anyone juggling a -level demands, you have to know when to strategically press pause. Pushing through while feeling lousy is a recipe for mistakes, and that’s a risk I’m not willing to take. This is a critical lesson for anyone : your well-being directly impacts your performance.
Tonight, the only things on the agenda are reviewing my notes and getting some rest. Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do for your is to step away from it. The work will still be there in the morning, and hopefully, I’ll be in better shape to tackle it. After all, are a marathon, not a sprint.
